SEO India tricks – White Hat and Black Hat!

Posted on April 26 2010 by admin

All websites are not able to earn the profits they were made for. Some do while many don’t. Actually, out of the lacks and lacks of websites there are only a few hundreds who are able to bring good sales and revenues. Or better said, only those websites prove revenue earners which rank at good positions in Google searches for a particular keyword. So, ‘ranking higher’ is the catchword for all site owners in the present times. And to rank high, sites have to follow the SEO techniques.

In fact, whatever technique an SEO professional would follow have been put under the two categories of White Hat techniques and Black Hat techniques.

The White Hat techniques include all the legal tricks, as stated by search engines, that are followed for a better ranking position in the search engine. On the whole, these techniques are followed by every SEO professional, and they must.

Putting up quality content while maintaining the keyword density has been the primary mode of raising a site’s ranking through the White Hat means. Keyword density should be maintained at a total of 1 keyword per hundred words of the total content. Different sites show different keyword density, however, a total of 2-3% of the total content has been considered as good when it comes to the search engines like Google.

Also the titles along with metadata, having relevant keywords, aid in gaining a good rank. These have been so much misused throughout the times that search engines had to be less prioritized among the rules of better ranking steps. They do consider keyword presence in this part of the page, but it has very less value. Proper title usage along with a good meta data description will surely have some effect on the marks given to your site by the search engines.

Getting quality inbound links is also a good means of increasing in the ranking parameter of various search engines. Links in other similar content pages has a considerable impact on the ranking of your site. Moreover, it would be better if the site has a good ranking in the search engines.

White hat SEO techniques can take some time to implement but their results tend to last for a long period of time. Although, the two facts are true, they must not be considered as universal rules. Any SEO India company should concentrate more on using these tips.

Black hat SEO techniques include the use of hidden content technique where contents, that remain invisible to the visitors, are stuffed with keywords. Though these contents can’t be viewed by visitors, crawlers do read them, thus affecting the ranking.

Next among these techniques is the meta keyword stuffing where keywords are stuffed in metadata contents. SEO India professionals tend to use too many keywords unnecessarily only to get better position in the search engines, although from now on, the engines don’t give much weightage to the keywords in these tags. The step was taken only to stop this practice.

Another one among the Black Hat tricks is adding keywords in the gateway pages or doorway pages. They are actually false pages and are designed only for the search engines. These pages don’t appear before the visitors.

And lastly the link farming! Link farm is a form of spamming the index of a search engine. These only work to provide links for unrelated websites and would never result in any traffic for the listed sites. Such spamming is also known as spamdexing or spamexing.

Black hat SEO techniques may quickly deliver results. However, the results are mostly short terminal and don’t prove much beneficial in the long run.
